The Sense Professional Edition editor inherits all of the robust cross-referencing and hyperlinking qualities of the Sense Personal Edition with the additions of an application interface (API) and source-code support to enable integration into business systems.
The editor currently provides closely tied support for plain text webpage editing and RSS feed authoring when running in conjunction with the freeware Sense To Webpage and Sense To RSS tools
More specialised traceability implementations involving document to document and source code cross-referencing are feasible.
These uses, potential and realized, are possible because Sense has a novel approach to document structure where the parts such as paragraphs(lines), bullets and sections(chapters) are uniquely identified. This allows cross-references to be established that are inherently robust and underpins a preview feature which displays link targets as document Fragments.
